YAUN ADVOCATES FOR THE UNITED NATIONS MILLENNIUM DEVELOPMENT GOALS!

Aims and Objectives
The major aim of YAUN is to inspire young people to adopt the ideals and objectives of the United Nations, recognizing it as the only global organization that maintains the hope of world peace. The aims and objectives of YAUN are summarized in the preamble to the YAUN Constitution:

VISION:
"We envision Youth Advocates for United Nations (YAUN) as a community of young Filipino leaders, who are globally competitive, guided by Filipino values in pursuing the standards and ideals of the United Nations towards the sustainable development of the Philippines."

MISSION:
1. To believe that the Filipino youth, equipped with upright skills and values, can make a difference through unity amidst diversity.
2. To innovate programs and projects that will empower young individuals to respond to the challenges of the global community.
3. To lead the Filipino youth in promoting and upholding the ideals and standards of the United Nations for the service and welfare of the Philippine society.
4. To inspire the Filipinos to be sensitive and socially responsible to the needs of others while remaining rooted to their culture and values.
5. To build a strong and forward-looking Philippine society that is capable of providing sufficient resources for the betterment of the Filipino people.”

In more practical terms, YAUN aims to develop students’ skills in vital areas such as public speaking, debating, negotiating, research, social interaction and leadership. YAUN assists young people by broadcasting their horizons not only on current global issues, but also on their own ability to solve problems and tackle challenges. The community benefits by having a larger pool of focused, motivated and skilled young leaders.
